چکیده

Cotton production in India by the vast majority comes from cotton hybrids whose genetic purity is of great significance seed chain and trade. Therefore, there a need to develop rapid, reliable reproducible technique assess as traditional, morphological traits-based ‘Grow-Out Test’ resource intensive, time consuming, tedious not an infallible procedure. In this regard, study was planned understand diversity among their parents also identify SSR markers for confirmation or hybridity. One intra-arboreum hybrid, CICR2 (DS 5 GMS × LD 327 Sel.), four intra-hirsutum viz., CSHH198 (CSH 19 CSH 8), CSHH238 (SH 2379 9Y PIL 8 CSHH243 2013 43), CSHH1862 (GMS 16A CB 33) one hirsutum barbadense Phule 388 (RHC-006 RHCb-001) along with respective parental lines were selected molecular characterization. Of total 215 surveyed, 60 conveyed polymorphism. The information polymorphic utilized divergence material. Maximum dissimilarity 0.66 noted between (Sel.), RHC-006 DS (GMS). Minimum 0.07 observed 33, followed 0.11 highly efficient capturing both intra-species inter-species level diversity. clustering factorial analysis  in congruence species Gossypium. diploid genotypes clustered separately distinctly rest genotypes. All found closely clustered. inter-specific its grouped closely. confirmed using identified [GH486, BNL1421, BNL3594, JESPR151 G. hybrids, CSHH198; GH486, BNL2449, JESPR151, TMB0436 CSHH238; JESPR152 GH527, BNL3812, TMB1484, TMB1645, NAU1190, BNL3816 hybrid 388]. purity. generated present about testing will greatly facilitate quality these thus, better production. Hybrids in fishes and their identification using microsatellite DNA markers: A review

Among vertebrates, most of the fishes are unique for the lack of acrosome in their spermatozoa. The sperm enters the egg through micropyle of the egg. This has facilitated heterologous fertilization in many fishes and led to hybridization and polyploidization. Hybridization is performed both in the nature and domesticated fishes. Today, some of the hybrids have high growth rate than their paren...

Surface plasmon resonance detection of transgenic Cry1Ac cotton ( Gossypium spp.).

The detection and identification of genetically modified (GM) plants are challenging issues that have arisen from the potential negative impacts of extensive cultivation of transgenic plants. The screening process is a long-term focus and needs specific detection strategies. Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) has been used to detect a variety of biomolecules including proteins and nucleic acids du...

Gel Based DNA Marker Technologies in Cotton

Genetic mapping with DNA markers has become an essential tool for revealing the genetic basis of both qualitative and quantitative traits in crop plants. DNA markers have special advantages over morphological traits in genetic analysis because they are normally polymorphic, have no pleiotropic or epistatic effects, employ non-destructive methods requiring very small amounts of plant materials a...

Polyploidization Altered Gene Functions in Cotton (Gossypium spp.)

Cotton (Gossypium spp.) is an important crop plant that is widely grown to produce both natural textile fibers and cottonseed oil. Cotton fibers, the economically more important product of the cotton plant, are seed trichomes derived from individual cells of the epidermal layer of the seed coat. It has been known for a long time that large numbers of genes determine the development of cotton fi...

A Whole-Genome DNA Marker Map for Cotton Based on the D-Genome Sequence of Gossypium raimondii L.

We constructed a very-high-density, whole-genome marker map (WGMM) for cotton by using 18,597 DNA markers corresponding to 48,958 loci that were aligned to both a consensus genetic map and a reference genome sequence. The WGMM has a density of one locus per 15.6 kb, or an average of 1.3 loci per gene. The WGMM was anchored by the use of colinear markers to a detailed genetic map, providing reco...
